Question
What do you mean by arithmetic line graph? Explain briefly.

Answer

Arithmetic line graph is a graph of time series data. In it, time period is shown on the x-axis and the corresponding values of the variable are shown on the y-axis. Arithmetic line graph, also called time series graph is of two types:
  1. Graphs of one variable: If only one variable is to be shown then time is measured along the x-axis and the value of the variable on the y-axis.
  2. Graphs of two or more variables: When two or more variables are shown on the same graph then different types of lines (dotted lines, broken lines etc.) are preferred to be used.
