Destruction of forests is called deforestation.
  • It is a global problem.
  • Though trees are destroyed by nature, human interference causes more harm to forests. The impact of deforestation is widespread:
  • Air pollution increases with increase of carbon-dioxide in the atmosphere. -Green-house effect increases.
  • There is decrease in rainfall.
  • Soil erosion increases and the fertility of the soil decreases.
  • Living organisms lose their habitat and become homeless.
  • Animals enter human settlements in search of food and Water.
  • This can lead to -carnivorous animals become man or cattle hunters.
