→ Japonika variety of rice is modified by three genes. Out of this, two genes are taken from daffodil plant and one from bacteria.
→ Golden rice is rich in vitamin A.
→ Beta carotene is a precursor for vitamin A.
→ Due to presence of beta carotene the endosperm of seed appears yellow in colour.
