Aqua regia is a highly corrosive and fuming liquid. It is a freshly prepared mixture of conc. $HCl$ and conc. $HNO _3$ in the ratio of 3:1. Most of the substances dissolve in it. Aqua regia is a reagent which dissolves gold and platinum.
