Question
What is the order of a reaction?

Answer

The sum of the co-efficients (or powers) of the reactants involved in a reaction is called order of the reaction.
Example: $H_{2}+Br_{2}\longrightarrow2HBr$
$Rate=K[H_{2}][Br_{2}]^{1/2}$
Order $=1+1 / 2=1 / 2$
