What measure would you take to prevent water-borne diseases?

Some of the main diseases transmitted through water are: Typhoid, Amoebiasis, Ascariasis, Malaria, Cholera etc.
To prevent these diseases:
(1) Reservoirs, ponds and cesspools should be cleaned from time to time.
(2) Digest water by boiling or re-digesting it. Keep drinking water covered in a vessel.
(3) Human excreta and urine should be disposed of properly. Its For this, excreta and urine from toilets should be disposed of in underground tanks and sewage systems.
(4) The breeding grounds of vectors of diseases like malaria and filariasis should be destroyed.
(5) Water should not be allowed to accumulate in and around residential areas.
(6) Regular cleaning of coolers.
(7) Fish like Gambujiya which eat mosquito larvae should be used.
(8) Medicines, drainage areas and swamps. Spraying of pesticides should be done in swops etc.
(9) Use of mosquito net. Apart from this, nets should be installed on doors and windows so that mosquitoes cannot enter inside.
