Question
Why is interference pattern not obtained on placing two coherent sources apart from each other at large distance.

Answer

Fringe width : $ W=D\lambda/d \Rightarrow W \propto 1/d. $
Hence, when distance between two coherent sources d is kept large fringe width will become very small. Therefore fringe will overlap each other hence interference pattern will not be obtained.

A short bar magnet placed in a horizontal plane has its axis aligned along the magnetic north-sourth direction. Null points are found on the axis of the magnet at 14 cm from the centre of the magnet. What is the total magnetic field on the normal bisector of the magnet at the same distance as the null points (i.e. 14 cm) from the centre of the magnet?
