B.R. Ambedkar

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was a great leader of 'Dalits' of India. He was also a scholar and a patriot. He was born on April 14, 1891 in a poor Mahar family of Madhya Pradesh. He had bad experiences as an untouchable in his childhood. He did his Ph.D and Bar-at-Law from England in 1921. He became famous as a lawyer. Later, he decided to fight for the rights of the 'Dalits'. He played an important role in the preparation of the Indian Constitution. He died in 1956.
