Write a short note on bromination reaction of benzene.

Bromination of benzene:
$i.$ In bromination reaction, hydrogen atom of benzene is replaced by bromine atom.
$ii.$ Bromine reacts with benzene in dark in presence of iron or ferric bromide or anhydrous aluminium bromide or red phosphorus as catalyst to give bromobenzene $(C_6H_5Br).$
$iii.$ Electrophile involved in the reaction: $Br^+$
Formation of the electrophile: $Br – Br + FeBr_3 \rightarrow Br^+ + [FeBr_4]^–$
