Question
Write four solutions of the equation: $x = 4y.$
✓
Answer
$x = 4y$
$\Rightarrow$ y = $\frac{x}{4}$
put $x = 0,$ we get $y = \frac{0}{4} = 0$
Put $x = 4,$ we get $y = \frac{4}{4} = 1$
Put $x = –4$, we get $y = \frac{-4}{4} = -1$
Put $x = 2$, we get $y = \frac{2}{4}$ = $\frac{1}{2}$
$\therefore$ Four solutions are $(0, 0), (4, 1), (–4, –1)$ and $(2, \frac{1}{2}$).
