b. Right Hand Thumb Rule:- When a current carrying straight conductor is held in the right hand in such a way that the thumb points towards the direction of the current, then the fingers will wrap around the conductor in the direction of the field lines of the magnetic field.

Study the following circuit and answer the questions that follows:

i. How much current is flowing through
a. $10 \Omega$ and
b. $15 \Omega$ resistor?
ii. What is the ammeter reading?

Given

i. Current through
a. $10 \Omega$ resistor, $\mathrm{I}_{1}=\frac{V}{R}=\frac{3}{10}=0.3 \mathrm{~A}$
b. $15 \Omega$ resistor, $\mathrm{I}_{2}=\frac{V}{R}=\frac{3}{15}=0.2 \mathrm{~A}$
ii. Current flowing through the circuit $=0.3+0.2=0.5 A$
Thus, the ammeter reading is 0.5 A .
