Answer
View full question & answer→(i) Given that in a survey, three out of five people prefer online shopping.
Therefore, number of people who preferred shopping from local market = 2
So, percentage of people who preferred local market
=$\frac{2}{5} \times 100 \%=40 \%$
Hence, 40% people preferred shopping from local market.
(ii) Original cost of geyser = ₹ 9000
Discounted Price = ₹ 7560
$\therefore\quad$Change in amount = ₹ 9000 - ₹ 7560 = ₹ 1440
Now, percentage reduction
=$\left(\frac{\text { Change in amount }}{\text { Original amount }} \times 100\right) \%$
=$\frac{1440}{9000} \times 100=16 \%$
Hence, percentage reduction in the cost of the geyser is 16%.
(iii) Given, the amount of money Misha spent on online shopping is three times the amount she spent on shopping from the local market. Therefore, the ratio of online shopping to local market.
= 3 : 1
Now, Misha spent in online shopping
=$\frac{3}{4} \times 15000$= ₹ 11250
and Misha spent in local market = $\frac{1}{4} \times 15000$ = ₹ 3750
$\therefore$ Percentage of online shopping = $\frac{11250}{15000} \times 100=75 \%$
Hence, 75% of money, Misha spending on shopping online.
(iv) (b) Given, cost of 20 earrings = ₹ 200
cost of beads $=$ ₹ $30$
cost of glue $=$ ₹ $20$
Total cost price $=200+30+20=$ ₹ $250$
Nisha sells it for ₹ 40 each.
Total selling price $=20 \times 40=$ ₹ $800$
Now, Profit $= SP - CP =800-250=$ ₹ $550$
Hence, the profit is ₹ 550.
(v) (b) Percentage profit $=\frac{\text {Profit}}{\text {Cost Price}} \times 100$
$=\frac{550}{250} \times 100=220 \%$
Hence, the percentage of profit is $220 \%$.
Therefore, number of people who preferred shopping from local market = 2
So, percentage of people who preferred local market
=$\frac{2}{5} \times 100 \%=40 \%$
Hence, 40% people preferred shopping from local market.
