Question 13 Marks
Draw the graphs representing the equation $2x=y+2$ and $4x+3y=24$ on the same graph paper. Find the area of the triangle formed by these lines and the X-axis.
Answer

Points for $4x + 3y = 24$: (6,0), (0,8), (3,4).
Intersection is (3,4). Triangle base on X-axis is from (1,0) to (6,0), base length = 5. Height = y-coordinate = 4. Area = $\frac{1}{2} \times 5 \times 4 = 10$ sq. units.
