The old woman sage Gautami and two Rishikumars Sharangarava and Shardwata take Shakuntala to the king Dushyant's palace. Gautami reminds the king of his Gandharva Vivah with Shakuntala but due to the effect of the curse given by the sage Durvsa, the king does not remember anything. At that moment, Shakuntala felt very sad. Then Shardwata and Sharangarava argued strongly with the king and requesting him to accept Shakuntala as his wife as Shakuntala was pregnant. They tell him that being expert in social traditions, the king should not escape from his moral duty. Sharangarava asks the king not to be proud but there is not effect on the king. Then Shardwata asks Shakuntala to give authentic answer. Shakuntala looks for the ring given to her by the king but she doesnt find it in her finger.
