Question
Characterisation of Bhima

Answer

Pandu had 5 sons like Yudhisthira, Arjun, Bhima, Nakul and Sahdev. Bhima was the third son of Pandu. Once Draupadi found a flower called सौगन्धिका. She was impressed by its beauty and fragrance and expressed her desire to have such more flowers. Bhima left for the forest to fulfill her desire. He came across Hanuman in the forest. Hanuman recognised Bhima instantly but Bhima could not recognise him. Both got engaged in conversation. Bhima creates confusion in the forest and causes damage to trees and fruits. He introduced himself as a Kshatriya and praises about his bravery. He compares himself with Parijat of Paurav dynasty. Bhima asks Hanuman to remove his tail otherwise he will jump over Hanuman. Thus, this lesson reflects bravery of Bhima.
