Kautilya describes four type of learnings:
(1) आन्वीक्षिकी the science of logic exposing truth through proper examination.
(2) त्रयी means the three Vedas - Rigveda, Yajurveda and Samveda.
(3) वार्ता means the learning related to agriculture, cattle rearing and trade and commerce, the decisions taken related to these activities and their good or bad impacts.
(4) दण्डनीति which describes yoga and happiness. It contains provisions for punishment also.
