Isotopes: Nuclides which contain same number of protons but different number of neutrons in their nuclei are called as isotopes. e.g. ${ }_{11}^{22} Na ,{ }_{11}^{23} Na$ and ${ }_{11}^{24} Na$ ii. Isobars: Nuclides (of different element) which have same mass number but have different number of protons and neutrons in their nuclei are called as isobars. $OR$ The atoms of different elements having the same mass number but different atomic numbers are called isobars. e.g. ${ }_6^{14} C$ and ${ }_7^{14} N$
