Question
Explain expectancy theory.

Answer

It is said in Bhagwad Gita, “Keep on doing the work (karma) and do not expect the result.” But it is difficult for the human being to implement it. Every person expects something for whatever he does. When the expectation is fulfilled after completion of the job, he gets job satisfaction. For example when a person is called for work on holiday he feels that his holiday is spoiled. But after the work when he goes home in the evening he gets regular salary plus one day allowance, then his expectations are completed. So when-he—18 called again to the office on holiday, he will happily go for the job.
