Question
Explain the components of eccentric signs.

Answer

  • When it is necessary to use one eye to visualize the sensation of depth and distance, it is called monosyllabic signals.
(A) Endpoint:
  • When one object obstructs the view of another object, we realize that it is close to the fully visible object and away from the covered objects. Which is called introspection.
(B) Aerated transparency:
  • Aerated transparency is usually seen when the details of the nearby stimuli are clear and the details of the distant stimuli are dim or blurred due to the effects of the atmosphere.
  • In the play, curtains of light mesh cloth are arranged to create the illusion of distance.
  • So that the scene on stage appears blurred.
(C) Linear Perspective:
  • Linear perspective is when lines of equal distance appear to converge on the retina at some point on the distant horizon.
  • For example, looking at the railway tracks from a distance, one can see them coming closer and closer.
(D) Light and shadow:
  • Light always travels from top to bottom so the shadow of the object is seen falling down and back.
  • In this way light and shadow play a part in determining the distance of objects.
  • For example, when looking at photographs of the lunar planet by satellite, the hilly area is the luminous part and the pitted part is the shaded part. That is how it is interpreted.
(E) Relative size:
  • The image of the object appears small or large above the retina. Yet we recognize it in real form on the basis of experience while realizing it.
  • An object appears larger when it is close to the retina and appears small when away.
  • Here the relative size of the image falling over the retina due to distance is called realization.
(F) Surface pattern and slope:
  • A gradient is a slow change in the surface.
  • Its cliffs are clearly visible as it is close to the surface and flat as it is far from the surface. I.e. its rough condition is not clearly visible. So we assume that an object is near when it appears in a rough state and far when a flat state appears.
