Explain Wechsler Adult Intelligence scale.

Apart from Stanford - Binet test, Wechsler intelligence scales are also equally important to measure individual intelligence. This test is conducted to measure the intelligence from children to adults. There are different tests for people of different age group. 
Wechsler's Adult Intelligent Scale (WAIS) is used to measure intelligence in adults from 16 to 64 years of age. In this test we can obtain overall score as well as verbal and performance score. 
There are 11 sub-tests in the Adult Intelligence Scale out of which six are verbal tests and five performance tests, The verbal test includes - information, comprehension, arithmetic, digit span, similarities and vocabulary. While the performance test includes-picture arrangement, picture completion, block design, object assembly etc. A revised form of this test was introduced in 1981 which is known as WAIS-R.
