Question
'Handsome is as Handsome Does'.

Answer

Handsome is as Handsome Does

This is a well-known proverb which tells us not to judge a person by his or her appearance but by their deeds. Everyone is impressed by a good-looking person. This is only temporary, for the person may not behave as charmingly as his or her looks seem to indicate.
In the long run, the actions of a person make him or her more attractive than the looks. People like Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi or Mother Teresa did not have very striking or impressive looks. But who will ever forget them? They will be remembered for eternity as people who had an inner glow and whose deeds helped the world. They glow with an inner light.
In fact, very often we find that good-looking people can be quite rude and selfish, and we are surprised and troubled by this, for we expect a handsome or beautiful person to behave in a positive manner. On the other hand, a person with ordinary looks can be a gem. Hence, we should never judge a person by his or her looks but by their deeds.
