The state executive consists of the Governor, the Chief Minister and the Cabinet.
  • Governor appoints the leader of majority party of the Legislature as Chief Minister. Governor appoints the members of the Cabinet as per the recommendation of the Chief Minister. In this way, the state executive is formed.
  • The executive also includes administrative officers working under the control and guidance of the ministers. The Cabinet is called the 'political executive' and the administrative officers are called 'administrative executive'.
