Ramayana contains the story related to the life of Lord Rama so it is called Ramayani also. There is use of pun in it. The Ramayana composed by Valmiki is in Anushtup metre. There are two words indicating the marvel of pun. (1) सदूषणा having a demon as a character called दूषण still without any flaw (2) सखरा means - having a demon as a character called खर still without any harshness or hardness. Thus, due to its many peculiarity Ramayana is much more popular.
