With the help of the flow chart given below solve the equation $x^2+2 \sqrt{3} x+3=0$ using the formula.

Answer

$x^2+2 \sqrt{3} x+3=0 \text { compare with } a^2+b x+c=0 $
$ \Rightarrow a=1, b=2 \sqrt{3} \text { and } c=3 $
$ \therefore b^2-4 a c=(2 \sqrt{3})^2-4(1)(3) $
$ =12-12 $
$ =0 $
$ x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4 a c}}{2 a} $
$ \Rightarrow x=\frac{-2 \sqrt{3} \pm \sqrt{0}}{2 \times 1} $
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{-2 \sqrt{3}}{2}$
