Work out the surface area of following shape (use $\pi$ $= 3.14$).

Answer

Surface area of the figure
$= 2[3 \times 1 + 1 \times 1 + 3 \times 1] + 2[4 \times 1 + 1 \times 1 + 4 \times 1] - [1 \times 1 + 1 \times 1]$
$= 2[3 + 1 + 3] + 2[4 + 1 + 4] - [1 + 1]$
$= 2[7] + 2[9] - [2] = 14 + 18 - 2$
$= 32 - 2$
$= 30cm^2$
