The Development of Agriculture is associated with the efforts to increase the agricultural production in order to meet the growing demand of increasing population of any region. The development of agriculture can be done in many ways. For example, the agriculture can be developed by using the farm-oriented machines, by expanding the sowing area, by increasing the number of crops cultivated by improving the facilities in irrigation, by using fertilizers and by using high yielding variety of seeds. The ultimate target of the development of agriculture is to increase the security of the food for the people.
The development in the co-operative field in agriculture also has been encouraging in the agricultural development. Kisan Credit Card and the agricultural subsidy are offered by the nationalised as well as co-operative banks to help the farmers economically. The Government has set up the facility of warehouses (godowns) to store the farm products in different parts in the country.
The Government of Gujarat offers to the farmers the facilities through radio. television. newspapers, DD Kisan Channel, Kisan SMS on mobiles, toll free number $1800\ 180\ 1551 ($Kisan Call Centre$),$ mobile apps like government Web Portals for farmers. E-Khedut and Agri Market, and provides continuously about the latest information, new technology and guidance. Besides, the farmers are provided with the latest information and guidance through agricultural fairs (Krushi Mela) every year by the Government of Gujarat. The agriculture develops day by day through these efforts.
