The layer of the air gets some weight due to gravitational force. The huge layer of the air exerts pressure on the surface of the earth according to its weight, which is called 'Atmospheric Pressure'.
Atmospheric pressure is maximum at the sea level.
The pressure decreases while going higher from the surface of the earth. In the regions of high temperature, the gases heat up and rise upwards. That creates low atmospheric pressure there.
The low pressure is connected with the cloudy and humid seasons. The atmosphere is cool in the regions of less temperature. So the atmospheric pressure is high there.
