Dengue Fever Claims 10 Lives in Dhule
Dhule, October 20 : A tragic outbreak of Dengue fever has claimed the lives of ten people in the city of Dhule over the last two weeks. The local health department confirmed that the victims, including three children, succumbed to complications arising from the mosquito-borne viral infection. This sudden surge in cases has caused widespread panic among the residents.
According to Dr. Sanjay Patil, the Chief Medical Officer of the Civil Hospital, the hospital has been overwhelmed with patients showing symptoms like high fever, severe joint pain, and falling platelet counts. "The recent unseasonal rains have led to stagnant water in several localities, providing a breeding ground for mosquitoes," he stated. He also mentioned that several other patients are currently in critical condition and are being closely monitored in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In response to the crisis, the Municipal Corporation has intensified its cleanliness drive. Fumigation is being carried out on a war footing across the most affected wards. Authorities have issued a public advisory urging citizens to empty water from coolers, pots, and old tires to prevent further breeding. Local NGOs have also stepped forward to organize blood and platelet donation camps to assist those in need.
