Question
Explain the paradigm of the environment according to Bronfenbrenner. (Detailed note)

Answer

  • Bronfenbrenner has conceptualized the five mechanisms of the environment like a bird's nest.
(1) Microbiology:
  • The person between whom life lives is called Sukshmatantra.
  • This includes elements like family, friends, school, and neighbors.
  • Interaction in this system mostly takes place with parents, friends.
(2) Experience mechanism:
  • Here the effect of the interaction of different micro-systems is seen.
  • In which the effect of interaction with the child's family, friends, teachers etc. is seen.
  • E.g. Children in the Clitoris family have difficulty adjusting to people.
(3) External mechanism:
  • Here the effect of an external system that is not close to a person is seen when interacting with close individuals.
  • For example, the effect of work experience is seen in the behavior of children and spouse.
  • The person gets angry at the wife and child due to the effect of the dispute with the superior.
(4) Cultural system:
  • The effect of this system is seen in the culture in which the person lives.
  • For example, beliefs, values, customs, laws, etc. in a society or culture have an effect on a person's behavior.
(5) Chronological mechanism:
  • Chronology involves changes in a person's life.
  • E.g. The young person is more energetic and optimistic.
  • But with age, his activity and ambition diminish.
