The following are the type of phobia shown in the DSM-V. Animal type: The fear of spider, lizard, dog, insects etc. is included in this type of phobia. Natural environment type : This type refers to fear of water, high altitude, darkness and cyclone. Blood - injection - injury type : This type of phobia includes fear of blood, testing of blood or check up, injection, seeing the surgery going on etc. 
Situational type : In this type, fear of specific situations like going in the lift, use of escalator, travelling by plane or railway etc. are experienced. 
Other type : Chocking or vomiting, fear of becoming a victim of some incurable disease etc. are included in this type of phobia. The fear of bursting balloons in children also comes into this category.
