Question
पराभवोऽप्युत्सव एव मानिनाम् ।
✓
Answer
Defeat is like a celebration for people having self respect. Explanation: This line has been taken from 'किरातार्जुनीयम्' composed by the great poet Bharavi. Yudhisthira sent a spy to know about the administration of Duryodhana. On the basis of the report given by the spy Draupadi gets annoyed due to their political adversity and holds Yudhisthira responsible for that. Instead of destroying enemies to regain his kingdom, Yudhisthira is doing nothing. He does not get angry on the Kauravas and remains totally calm. She explains him the miserable plight of the Pandavas. She says that the Kauravas are responsible for the miserable condition of the Pandavas. Victory and defeat do not depend upon the fate. It is untolerable for her that the Kauravas are living a luxurious and comfortable life and put them (the Pandavas) in miserable condition. She believes that a person has to face defeat in life but if he maintains courage, he gets opportunity to be victorious. Defeat always tests a person's strength. A person's strength develops during calamities. But there is no way for the person who loses his courage during calamities.
