Those three bears name only.
Explanation: This statement has been taken from "स्मृतिरससुधा" of "मनुस्मृति". In this shloka, it is said that an elephant made of wood, a deer made of leather and a Brahmin who has not studied Veda bear only name. A wooden elephant does not have life. Similarly a deer made of leather does not possess life. In the similar manner, a Brahmin is a Brahmin only for namesake if he has not studied Veda and not a scholar. A true scholar is ornamented with knowledge and learning.
