Aacharya Vishnugupta from Kautilya Gotra gave training of Shastra and Shaastra to Chandragupta from Takshashila. Chandragupta Maurya defeated Dhananand, the last ruler of the Nand dynasty in $321$ $BC$ under the guidance and help of Vishnugupta and established the Maurya dynasty on Magadh. He defeated Seleucus Nicator and won four territories. Being impressed with the bravery of Chandragupta, Seleucus married his daughter Helena with Chandragupta. He almost established sovereign power over the whole of India. Chandragupta passed the last years of his life with Jam monk Bhadrabahu in Shravan Belgauda. Chandragupta Maurya, established the first empire in India and ruled for $24$ years on the throne of Magadh.
