In this line, there is pun in स्नेह and खलता. स्नेह has two meanings - oil and love. Similarly the word खलता also has two meanings - oil cake and wickedness. Thus, the poet has shown wonderful implicit meaning through pun.
Here, under the pretext of paddy and sesame, the character of gentelemen and wicked persons has been decribed. A gente person becomes more and more pure and attractive as he suffers more and more hardship in life. While an evil person forsakes his love and affection and shows his wickedness whenever he suffers from trouble. Thus, a gentleman is like paddy and an evil person is like sesame.
