Now, what should I do with you?" Then he tells hero and heroine - This villanious girl has insulted me in front of both of you. So I shall go somewhereelse. Cheti thinks that Atrey has really got angry with her. She says that she will go after him and please him. At that time, the heroine asks her, "O friend! Where are you going leaving me alone?" Then addressing to the hero, Cheti says, "So that you can stay here alone for a long time."

Translation: आर्य I describe you.
Explanation: The present sentence has been taken from the play 'ननु वर्णितोऽसि', The hero and the heroine of the play have fallen in love. Seeing the face of the heroine having become red in the heat of sharad season, the hero describing her face tells her," Your face is like Lord Indra's garden. The rest is mere forest." Hearing this, Cheti tells the clown," Do you hear how the hero is describing heroine's face? The beauty of her face is compared with Lord Indra's garden." Then the clown tells Cheti, "There is a handsome man among us. But due to jealousy, nobody describes him." Saying that, she becomes ready to describe him. There is pun in Cheti's statement. One meaning of वर्णयामि is - I describe you and another meaning is I paint you. Considering the - first meaning of वर्णयामि the clown became happy. But according to the second meaning of this word, Cheti blackens his face with the juice of Tamal tree buds. This incident causes laughter. The marvel of pun causes innocent laughter.

The hero holds the heroine's hand and make her sit with him. Seeing the heroine's face, the hero tells her - "O Dear! You are becoming sad uselessly. Your face is like Lord Indra's garden, the rest is mere forest."

Translation: As your face has become red due to heat it certainly wishes to win lotus.
Explanation: The present statement has been taken from the third act of the play 'नागानन्दम्'. The hero Jimutvahan, the king of Vidyadharas, his friend a clown and the heroine Malayvati and her friend Cheti are sitting in a garden between the rows of Tamal tree. At that time, the clown describes the beauty of Malayvati's face. Hearing this, the hero Jimutvahan tells the clown to observe properly and says to Malayvati that - The glowing of the cheecks of my lover has already won the moon and now it being red due to heat wishes to win the lotus.
In this statement, the glowing of cheeks is Upmey and the moon is Upaman. Both are compared through Vyatirek, the writer proves the cheecks are superior to the moon. In the above statement the word "ध्रुवम" indicates Utpreksha Alankar.

But this innocent clown becomes the victim of the clever Cheti. He believes Cheti and requests her to describe (paint) him as a token of appreciation.
