(1) Socialization:

• Prejudice is acquired through the process of socialization, by groups such as family, caste, religion or society.

(2) Intergroup contact:

• Prejudice becomes stronger when the interaction between two opposing groups decreases.
• Therefore, by increasing the contact and interaction between the castes, religions, regions and individuals who have prejudices, differences towards each other are removed.
• Which reduces prejudice.
• Bringing different groups into contact with each other increases faith and trust instead of doubt which reduces prejudice.

(3) Restructuring of family and school education:

• The task of educating children in human life is mostly done by the school and the family.
• If the education imparted in the school is variable enough to eradicate the prejudice then the prejudice of the society decreases.
• Prejudice can be reduced by teaching children to make independent decisions instead of imposing beliefs on them by the family, such as community life lessons in school, social service activities.

(4) Communication, mass media:

(5) Reclassification:

• India is a unique country with diversity.
• India is diverse in terms of language, religion, customs, dress, caste, etc.
• There are many distinct and diverse groups in India.
• In order to maintain the spirit of the group, it is necessary to eliminate the discrimination of many castes or sub-castes.
• For which, by reclassifying the society and trying to give equal rights to all, prejudice will be reduced.

(6) Cognitive intervention:

• There are three main forms of human behavior: (1) cognitive (2) emotional (3) verbal
• In which people can change their beliefs and thoughts by cognitive development.
• Enlightenment means accepting new ideas through knowledge and understanding.
• If new information is disseminated by the religious leaders of the society, social workers, people with social prestige, and then the thoughts of the people can be changed.
• E.g. Public opinion can be changed if the mass marriage system is promoted to reduce the many discussions behind marriage.

(7) Develop constructive attitudes:

• Prejudice is a misconception. Therefore, constructive attitudes are needed to reduce the negativity in the society.
• Including providing accurate information, holding open discussions to present evidence, and making efforts to increase group engagement to reduce bias.
• E.g. Educating women to get rid of discriminatory prejudices against women, engaging them in job occupations as well as informing them about saving daughters from homelessness through public programs reduces prejudices against daughters.

(8) By law:

• Laws play an important role in maintaining peace and order in society.
• The law is a very useful tool for maintaining social peace, security and order in a situation where many prejudices in the society cause social conflict or tension.
• E.g. It is a legal offense to perform a sex test to prevent female feticide.
• Which people can be controlled by law.
• This, prejudice has a pervasive effect in society.
• It is necessary to take various measures to control it.
