$\int \frac{1}{\left(x^{2}+1\right)\left(x^{2}+4\right)} d x$
माना $\frac{1}{\left(x^{2}+1\right)\left(x^{2}+4\right)} =\frac{(A x+B)}{x^{2}+1}+\frac{(C x+D)}{x^{2}+4}$
$\Rightarrow 1 = (Ax + B)(x^2 + 4) + (Cx + D)(x^2 + 1)$
दोनों पक्षों में $x^3, x^2, x$ तथा अचर राशि के गुणांकों की तुलना करने पर,
$A + C = 0, B + D = 0, 4A + C = 0$ तथा $4B + D = 1$
इन समीकरणों को हल करने पर$, A = 0, C = 0, B = \frac{1}{3}$ और $D = -\frac{1}{3}$
$\therefore \int \frac{1}{\left(x^{2}+1\right)\left(x^{2}+4\right)} d x =\frac{1}{3} \int\left[\frac{1}{\left(x^{2}+1\right)}-\frac{1}{\left(x^{2}+4\right)}\right] d x$
$=\frac{1}{3}\left\{\tan ^{-1} x-\frac{1}{2} \tan ^{-1}\left(\frac{x}{2}\right)\right\}+C$
माना $\frac{1}{\left(x^{2}+1\right)\left(x^{2}+4\right)} =\frac{(A x+B)}{x^{2}+1}+\frac{(C x+D)}{x^{2}+4}$
$\Rightarrow 1 = (Ax + B)(x^2 + 4) + (Cx + D)(x^2 + 1)$

$A + C = 0, B + D = 0, 4A + C = 0$ तथा $4B + D = 1$

$=\frac{1}{3}\left\{\tan ^{-1} x-\frac{1}{2} \tan ^{-1}\left(\frac{x}{2}\right)\right\}+C$
