Rabindranath Tagore, known as 'Kavivar or 'Gurudev' was a great litterateur. He was an ardent worshipper of nature. His thoughts on education are as follows:
$(1)$ He was an advocate of nature education he firmly believed as that knowledge can be obtained only in close proximity with nature.
$(2)$ According to Rabindranath Tagore education should be able to develop a child's creativity.
$(3)$ A child should be free from therigorous discipline of education. The education system should develop the child's imagination and curiosity.
$(5)$ He advocated that children should be encouraged to learn different arts such as music, acting and have an aptitude for painting.
$(6)$ He strongly believed that children learn moral values and spirituality.
$(7)$ He also believed that the teacher should have the ability to develop the child's psychology.
By establishing the 'Shantiniketan' institute in $1901 \ AD$, he started imparting education based on his thoughts. Later on, this came to be known as Shantiniketan Vishwa-Bharati University. This institute has given many scholars to the country.
